Enabling Subaccounts

allows creating multiple subaccounts within your main “parent” account, enabling separate accounts with unique settings and configurations.

To request subaccount creation for your account, email [email protected]. Requests are case-reviewed and provided at no additional cost.

Creating and Editing Subaccounts

Access the Subaccounts page in your Dashboard settings. Click the Create subaccount button to set up new subaccounts, detailing:

  • Subaccount Name: Main identifier for the subaccount.
  • Subaccount Code: Internal identifier for the subaccount.

There’s an option to Use parent’s payment methods and receipt. If unchecked, the subaccount can define its own payment methods, destination accounts, and PDF receipt settings.

For existing subaccounts, use the three-dot menu to edit properties.

Reviewing Each Subaccount’s Settings

After subaccounts are set up, access them via the dropdown in the Dashboard’s top-right or the dedicated Subaccount area in settings by selecting Login.

Subaccounts have their own campaigns and Elements.

Ensure users who should only view data for a single subaccount are added via the Users page within that subaccount’s settings. Payment methods and receipt settings only show if the Use parent’s payment methods and receipt option is unchecked.

Working with Data Across All Accounts

All dashboard filters, exports, and CRM integrations allow the inclusion or exclusion of subaccount-specific donation and supporter data, alongside aggregate data.

Subaccounts provide similar options for filtering, exporting, and integrating data with other systems in use.

Limitations

Subaccounts are distinct in account activity, featuring separate Donor Portals and supporter lists. Logging into a Donor Portal from one account doesn’t display activities from other accounts.

Single Website vs Multiple Websites

For a single website setup, the parent account’s installation code should be in each page’s <head>. It supports subaccount transactions but limits certain options.

Elements

On pages where the parent or a subaccount’s installation code is running, any subaccounts’ embedded Elements can be added. However, global Elements from specific subaccounts will only display on pages running that subaccount’s code.

URL API

Pages running the parent account’s code can only use vanity URLs for campaigns of the parent account with the URL API.

For subaccount campaigns, static IDs must be used, as vanity URLs across accounts could cause conflicts.
