Introduction to Virtual Terminal
The Virtual Terminal in givetly’s Dashboard allows you to process donations directly from your account. Accessible from anywhere within the Dashboard by pressing the T
key on your keyboard, its settings can be configured under Dashboard Settings → Virtual Terminal.
Settings Overview
Show Campaigns
Determine which campaigns can utilize Virtual Terminal for donations. This is helpful if you wish to set up a campaign exclusively for the Virtual Terminal or exclude certain campaigns from using it.
Default Campaign
Set a default campaign to automatically display when Virtual Terminal is activated, simplifying the donation process and reducing errors in campaign association.
Show Only Selected Campaigns
Select specific campaigns to appear within the Virtual Terminal, tailoring the options available to users.
Make Donor’s Email Required
Ensure the donor’s email address is compulsory during Virtual Terminal transactions for sending donation receipts.
Show Additional Notes During Checkout
Enable this to display extra notes alongside the Virtual Terminal during transactions, which can include scripts, directions, or FAQs.
Payment Methods
CVC Optional for Credit Card Donations
Allow the processing of card payments without the CVC/CVV to facilitate smoother transactions in certain circumstances.
Use Saved Information for New Donations
Permit auto-filling of supporter details and the use of saved payment methods for processing donations, provided the supporter has an existing recurring plan with givetly.
Enable for Virtual Terminal Specialist Role
Grant Virtual Terminal Specialists access to lookup, autofill, and saved payment method functionalities by enabling this setting.
Allow Direct Debit from Bank Accounts
Enable ACH US Direct Debit for donations. Choose between manual verification (using microdeposits) or automatic verification for donation processing. Note the associated risks with automatic verification.
Enabling/Disabling the Virtual Terminal
To activate the Virtual Terminal, acknowledge that doing so will affect your organization’s PCI compliance scope. Once enabled, it can be deactivated anytime through the settings page.
