Australia
For specific regions, Givetly offers tailored features to accommodate local fundraising needs. Detailed below are these features for Australia.
BECS Direct Debit
Givetly supports BECS Direct Debit, allowing Australian supporters to donate directly from their bank accounts securely. This method is convenient for both recurring and one-time donations.
Receipting
Givetly provides Australia-compliant donation receipts in line with the Australian Taxation Office requirements. These receipts are electronically generated and emailed to supporters, including all necessary details such as donation amount, supporter name, and payment method.
Canada
Address Requirements
To meet the requirements set by the Canadian Revenue Agency (CRA), registered charities must collect mailing addresses from supporters. Therefore, the address screen in Checkout is mandatory for Canadian donors.
Language Localization
Givetly supports the localization of the donor experience in both Canadian English and Canadian French.
Pre-Authorized Debits (PADs)
This payment method lets supporters authorize your organization to withdraw donation installments directly from their bank accounts. Givetly’s pre-authorized debits feature ensures secure collection of these payments.
Receipting
Donors to Canadian organizations receive receipts via email that adhere to CRA regulations, including the supporter’s name, donation amount, and the charity’s registration number. The receipt includes a tax credit eligibility statement and is available in both English and French.
United Kingdom
Address Lookup
In the UK, Givetly employs a UK-specific address lookup API and adjusts the order of address fields for a smoother user experience.
Bacs Direct Debit
Payment method available in the UK for direct bank payments. Givetly’s Bacs Direct Debit feature ensures secure collection of donations using this method.
Gift Aid
This UK government scheme allows charities to receive an additional 25% in donations. Supporters can choose to add Gift Aid when donating through Givetly.
Language Localization
Givetly provides localization of the donor experience into British English.
Strong Customer Authentication (SCA)
An enhanced security measure that uses two-factor authentication. Customers must provide two of the following: a password, a personal device or card, or a biometric identifier. SCA helps prevent fraud and identity theft.
Title Field
UK supporters must provide a title (e.g., “Mr.”, “Mrs.”, “Ms.”) when donating. Givetly includes a field for this to ensure Gift Aid is appropriately applied.
United States
CCPA Compliance
Givetly complies with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), providing US-based organizations the tools to access, delete, and opt-out of personal data sales to comply with California’s data privacy regulations.
European Union
Address Requirements
Certain European countries mandate the collection of mailing addresses from supporters. Consequently, Givetly may require supporters to fill out the address screen in Checkout.
General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
Givetly adheres to GDPR, ensuring the protection and secure storage of personal data, and enabling individuals to access, delete, or opt-out of sharing their information.
