PayPal is an online payment gateway that allows users to securely send and receive payments worldwide. It offers features such as subscription payments, digital invoicing, and fraud prevention.

Connecting PayPal

By connecting PayPal, you can enable PayPal and Venmo as payment options for your supporters.

  1. If your organization has a PayPal Business account, go to the Payment Methods section in your account settings.
  2. Scroll to Payment Providers, select PayPal, and click Connect PayPal Account. Follow the prompts to complete the connection.

You must use a PayPal Business account to connect with Givetly. Personal accounts are not eligible.

Getting a PayPal Account

To set up a PayPal business account, sign up online and provide needed business and banking information. Once signed up, access your PayPal account to connect with Givetly.

Nonprofit Discount

PayPal offers a nonprofit discount that provides a reduced transaction fee of 1.99% + 0.30 USD per transaction for eligible organizations. Learn more.

PayPal supports major credit cards, debit cards, and bank transfers. Additionally, Venmo can be activated when PayPal is connected to Givetly.

To use PayPal for recurring giving, enable Reference Transactions on your PayPal Business account. Fill out this form, and Givetly will assist in enabling this feature.

Transferring Donation IDs
