Use designations in to categorize donations, typically differentiating between unrestricted and restricted giving. While not necessary for accepting donations, implementing designations can clarify for supporters how their donation will be used and aid in tracking and reporting donation activities.

Creating Designations

Manage designations on the Designations page in the Dashboard. Each new designation needs a name and can include a designation code for reconciling donations with accounting software. The code is usable in Exports and integration mappings.

Table View

The Designations table shows each designation’s ID, name, and code. With Subaccounts enabled, a column will display the name of the account that created each designation.

ℹ️ Subaccounts can view and use Designations created by the primary account, but designations created by a subaccount are limited to that account.

Designations Across Accounts

Parent accounts can create designations available to subaccounts, but a subaccount’s designations are exclusive to its own campaigns.
