Supporters with Abandoned Donations

The Supporters with abandoned donations setting in your Dashboard helps reclaim potential donations that were started but not completed. By enabling the Save supporters with abandoned donations option, you trigger crucial actions to better engage potential donors:

  1. Activation of the “Remind Me Later” Screen: An opportunity within the Checkout modal for supporters to opt-in to receive a reminder to complete their donation.

  2. Creation of Abandoned Donations: This will capture instances of abandoned donations under conditions such as:

    • Supporters leaving their email on the “Remind Me Later” screen.
    • Exiting the Checkout Modal/Campaign Page after entering their email.
    • Entering an email but remaining inactive for an hour.

To comply with legal requirements, ensure you collect clear consent from supporters before storing their data. Enable the Prompt supporters to accept your terms option in your campaign settings.

An Abandoned donation reminder email sequence can be enabled to re-engage supporters and encourage them to finalize their donations. Configure this in Dashboard > Settings > Emails > Other communications > Abandoned donation reminder.

Validation

The Validate mailing address option allows you to decide if addresses should be validated when added or edited. Disabling this may improve conversion rates as it lets supporters proceed without errors in their mailing information.

Validating mailing addresses improves accuracy but disabling validation can increase conversions during the checkout process.

Case Format

If you opt to validate addresses, US-based organizations can select the preferred case format for addresses:

  • All letters capitalized
  • First letters of each word capitalized

For US addresses not validated or for non-US organizations, mailing addresses will default to having just the first letter capitalized.
