Campaigns
Learn how to create and manage Campaigns in givetly.
Campaign Overview
In givetly, campaigns facilitate the creation and management of Checkout modals and Campaign Pages. Organizations can create multiple campaigns to collect donations for various purposes like funds, appeals, or channels. Each campaign connects to every donation, recurring plan, Element, and Fundraiser. Campaign data is available in exports and integrations, allowing for mapping campaign properties with other applications.
Campaign view
The campaigns view in the Dashboard provides the tools needed for managing and creating new campaigns.
Search and Filters
The Campaigns view offers search and filtering functionalities. Search for campaigns using their ID or name. A Payment Methods filter displays campaigns based on enabled payment options in their settings. If subaccounts are active, an Account filter shows campaigns tied to specific accounts. With subaccounts, an Account column is also visible in the table view.
Table view
The table view showcases active campaigns, ordered by creation date by default. Users can sort by campaign name, raised amount, or last donation time. If a campaign has pending donations, an approximate equals sign (≈) indicates this beside the raised amount. Each row comes with a menu option to rename, disable, or clone the campaign.
Creating Campaigns
Create a campaign by clicking New campaign in the Campaigns view of the Dashboard. Choose between crafting a new campaign or cloning an existing one. Account availability determines cloning options. To start donations, enable the Checkout modal, set up the Campaign Page, emails, Fundraisers, and other settings, many of which auto-configure when starting from scratch for ease of use.
Info: When establishing a Campaign, manually activate the Checkout modal or Campaign Page as needed, since both are initially off. Quickly enable them via the respective tabs in your campaign’s general settings.
Suggested Campaigns
- General Donations: Unrestricted donations via your website.
- GivingTuesday: Specific donations for GivingTuesday.
- Social Media Landing: A landing page based on the Campaign Page settings for social media referrals.
- Year-End Campaign: Mid-Level Supporters: Targeted donations from particular supporter segments.
For beginners, starting with a “General Donations” campaign is advisable, which can be cloned and adapted for different goals later.
Cloning Campaigns
Highly customized campaigns can be cloned to replicate settings, reducing the need to manually reapply customizations for new campaigns. To clone, select New campaign and choose Clone an existing campaign. An alternative route is through the three-dot menu on each campaign row.
Disabling Campaigns
Disable campaigns via the three-dot menu in the Campaigns table. Confirm understanding of its effects, such as:
Feature | Impact After Disabling |
---|---|
Checkout modal | Supporters cannot donate through the modal, and it won’t load. |
Recurring plans | Continue without disruption, unaffected by campaign status. |
Elements | Components display but revert to archived settings as configured. |
Emails | Continue circulation for recurring donations or required supporter actions. |
Fundraisers | Redirect based on archived campaign configurations when accessed through Fundraisers. |
Dashboard | The campaign remains visible under the Insights section and within reports and filters. |
For further details refer to the documentation and settings available within the platform.
