Templates

At the campaign level, customize emails such as:

  • One-time receipt
  • Donation failed
  • Scheduled donation
  • Plan receipt
  • Installment receipt
  • Plan scheduled
  • Tribute e-card
  • Fundraiser started
  • Member welcome

Initial supporter interactions often occur through these emails. Customizations at the campaign level ensure that emails align with the campaign specifics. Campaign emails override account-level settings.

⚠️ Note: Changes to campaign-level emails in the Customization tab apply universally to all emails related to that campaign, overriding Dashboard settings.

Enabling and Disabling Emails

Each email’s configuration view includes a Send email dropdown, letting you determine whether the email gets dispatched to supporters. Selecting Do not send ensures Givetly won’t send that email, helpful if you use another system for supporter emails.

⚠️ Recommendation: Utilize Givetly’s emails for their high deliverability and consistent rendering across email clients. Adjusting the Send email setting at the campaign level does not impact the account-level setting.

Previewing and Sending Test Emails

Viewing Templates

Every email’s configuration view allows you to preview them. Selecting Show preview opens a modal that displays the email template with applied customizations.

Sending Test Emails

The preview modal contains a Send test email option allowing you to enter an email address where a test email will be sent. These emails are marked in test mode to distinguish them from live emails.

Campaign-level Customizations

The Emails section in campaign settings offers tools to configure campaign-specific emails. These changes affect only the selected campaign, not others or account-level settings.

Overriding Account-level Customizations

Campaign emails default to account-level customizations unless modified. To change properties, select Change in the email settings view. Modified settings for a particular campaign override the account-level defaults.

Restoring Default Content

To revert any campaign email properties, select Restore for each property in the email settings view.

Customization Settings

Localization

If additional languages are set in your Dashboard settings, you can localize campaign emails.

Activate localization by changing a property’s settings for a campaign-level email. A Localization menu appears in the email settings sidebar, offering tools for email content localization in your active languages.

The layout displays email labels in your default language and provides input fields for translations. Switch between languages using a selector in the header. Givetly offers boilerplate translations which should be customized to match your organization’s needs. Learn more
