Collect the information you need from supporters before and after donation conversion.

Found an error? Missing topic? Difficult to understand? Let us know

Decide what information you want to collect from supporters. Mandatory fields include the supporter’s first name, last name, and email address. This screen is displayed before the supporter makes their donation — we recommend keeping required fields to a minimum to avoid impacting conversions.

Ask for Title

Organizations in the UK, France, Germany, Austria, or Canada (when set to French) may choose to ask supporters for a title (e.g., Mr., Ms., Herr, Frau, etc.).

Ask for Mailing Address

Enable this option to collect a supporter’s mailing address. You can set a minimum donation amount to make this field mandatory. Some European countries require collection of a mailing address, and Givetly might automatically enforce this.

We recommend asking for mailing addresses only when essential, as making this optional can increase conversions by 3.4% across all devices. If unavoidable, consider only requiring it for larger donations, with address validation as necessary.

Ask for Phone Number

Enable this option to allow supporters to provide a phone number before checkout. Leaving this optional is recommended, as requiring a phone number can reduce conversions. You may also set a minimum donation amount to require it.

Allow Anonymous Donations

This option allows supporters to remain anonymous if they wish. Their information will be visible to your organization in the dashboard but will not be published or used in external reports.

Allow Donations on Behalf of Organizations

Enable this option to permit supporters to name an organization, such as a company or club, for donation credit.
