Explore the different overlay Elements provided by Givetly to drive conversion.
Givetly offers four interactive overlay Elements designed to boost conversions. These code-free elements are easy to integrate into your website. For information on configuring settings for these Elements or adding them to your site, review the Elements overview page.
URL Configurations
These Elements have a Visibility tab for setting when and where to display them. Here’s how you can configure URLs for display:
Behavior | Example |
---|---|
Target the root directory: The Element will appear (or hide) on the main page. | https://mycharity.org/ |
Target all subdirectories: The Element will appear (or hide) on all pages. | https://mycharity.org/* |
Target a specific directory: The Element will appear (or hide) only on this specific page. | https://mycharity.org/about/ |
The URL configurations can be combined for granular rules. For example, to manage visibility across a specific subdirectory, use https://mycharity.org/about/*
.
Ensure to provide the full URL when adding configurations, including https://
and the trailing slash for root directory targeting.
Reminder
This Element aims to reduce abandonment by reminding supporters about donations. It appears if someone is about to exit your Checkout modal without contributing or if they return without completing their donation.
Visitors need to accept Functional cookies via your website’s cookie banner for this feature to work. Test this Element using a demo setup in your Dashboard.
Message Bar
Use this Element for site-wide messages, positioned at the top or bottom of the page. You can add a heading, body text, and a CTA button linked to the Checkout. By default, the CTA opens the Checkout modal, or it will redirect to the Campaign Page if set.
Choose device-specific display for mobile, desktop, or both. Test the Message Bar via Dashboard demos.
Social Proof
Show site visitors’ ongoing donations in near real-time, encouraging others to contribute. Configure the visibility of supporter details and include a Donate button linked with Checkout or redirected to a Campaign Page.

Popup
The Popup comprises a title, main text, image, and a Donate button.
Behavior
The Donate button opens the Checkout modal by default. Alternatively, it redirects to the Campaign Page if linked.
Create a Popup demo in the Dashboard to visualize its effect.
