Enabling Localization

Localization can be enabled via the Settings menu by selecting Localization. Only the Dashboard’s Organization Administrator(s) can modify these settings. Learn more about Localization Settings.

Supported Languages

Givetly currently supports 23 locales, including:

  • Arabic (World)
  • Chinese (Traditional & Simplified)
  • English (Canada, UK, US)
  • Spanish/Spanish (US)
  • French (Canada, France)

Checkout Form

The entire Checkout experience can be localized. Product labels are automatically translated according to your settings, with customizable content like the Ask page available for multiple languages.

Elements

In the Elements components, labels are automatically translated. Customize content per localization as needed.

Donor Portal

The Donor Portal adapts to the language used during checkout. Supporters can change their language preference within the portal, which updates their record.

Exports

Include a Supporter language column in export templates with options for language display formats (e.g., Simple name, Name, ISO code). Learn about Exports.

Emails

When enabled, the localization settings for Emails allow adding language-specific content like a sender name and footer.

Designations

Add localizations for existing or new Designations within the Localization tab in your organization’s settings.

Receipts

PDF receipts are issued in the organization’s default language to comply with local regulations. For Canadian organizations, Givetly automatically provides receipts in both English and French. Learn more.
